Localisation: We understand your target market. Your customers understand you.

To prevent you from making an unintentional faux pas and ensure that your brand is properly understood in all languages, instead of translating your texts word for word, we adapt them to different people, markets and cultures.

Tapping into international target groups takes more than simply understanding their language. We are familiar with the things that make your target markets unique and adapt our translations to reflect the cultural, linguistic and industry-specific nuances. It all starts with company-specific terminology, and goes well beyond the translation of claims, headlines and puns. Translators call this localisation. At Schmieder, we call it par for the course.

The benefits for you of localisation with Schmieder.

We speak the language that makes brands successful. In every country and every industry.

Professional language management.

Any market. Any industry. Any language. Certified in accordance with ISO 17100, we are your international marketing partner and will manage all of your web, print and campaign texts in foreign languages.

Transcreation.

We do more than simply translate texts; we adapt them to convey the true meaning. Our translators take into account the linguistic and cultural nuances in their native language, ensuring that your message has exactly the right impact in every language.

Native speakers only.

For more than 30 years, we have only ever used native speakers for our translation projects. They live in the target country and are familiar with the local vernacular.

Extensive industry expertise.

We make sure that specific terminology from a wide range of specialist areas and industries is used correctly, while also ensuring that your texts meet the highest quality standards.
“Good translations are understood in the mind, but felt in the heart.”

As usual, we were able to rely on you entirely. When it comes to producing our brochures and the time frames associated with this, that’s critical both for us and our agency, and for this I’m genuinely grateful! Please do pass on my thanks to everyone involved. Thank you so much for the excellent teamwork.

Got a question? We have the answer.

  • What is localisation and why is it so important?

Localisation is not just about translating the content of the source text, but adapting it to the respective target market. The focus is on stylistic nuances that are specific to different cultures. This enables us to strike the right note in the target market too and increase trust in your company.

  • How do you guarantee consistent quality at all times?

Our professional translators have either a university degree or many years of experience – almost all of them have both. We also regularly assess their work according to a standard that is based on and has been further developed from SAE J2450.

  • How do we find the right translators?

When selecting your team of translators, we not only ensure that they have the right professional background, but the perfect style too. While accuracy plays a key role in legal texts and it’s essential that the correct terms are used in technical documents, creativity can occasionally be given free rein when it comes to translating marketing texts. We are also happy to provide you with a couple of suggestions and you can then choose your team.
